52 Popular Songs That Glorify Pedocriminality and Incest

52 chansons pédocriminelles

In 2021, I published an analysis on Madame Rap of 52 popular songs that glorify pedocriminality and incest. Released between 1952 and 2008, these variety, pop, and rock tracks, from Aznavour to Gainsbourg, from the Beatles to the Rolling Stones, from Alizée to Garou, normalize rape culture and grooming, and glamorize sexual violence against children.

These lyrics have shaped the imagination of entire generations: assaults presented as rock n’roll romances, pedophilic desires marketed as edgy transgressions, children depicted as temptresses, fantasies or even accounts of incest.

While rap is labeled as the most violent and sexist music genre and rappers are denied their narrative capacity and use of irony, these “great men” are elevated as poets and role models. Yet some of their writings clearly amount to predation.

I also created an online participatory form that allows people to add songs to this list. The goal? To demonstrate that this pedocriminal culture is deeply rooted in our society and to face it head-on. Indeed, if we are not capable of recognizing this toxic legacy, how can we properly support victims and claim to curb these forms of violence?

Victims have always spoken out. While things are moving forward more today and ears are opening, the fight is not yet won.
