Roundtable and public radio show on gender equality in music organized by HF Île-de-France at FGO Barbara, November 28, 2016
WOMEN AND MUSIC: CROSS-PERSPECTIVES FROM FRANCE, EUROPE, AND THE AMERICAS
As part of the “Equality Season in Contemporary Music,” HF Île-de-France in partnership with the DECLIC association and the MAP Network, organizes the recording of a public radio show.
What place for women in the music sector here and across the Atlantic? What obstacles do they encounter in their professionalization journey? What education and support have they received? Difference or persistence of inequalities, varied histories and unique relationships of cultures to women’s musical expression, solidarity networks, transgressions and innovative initiatives—so many lines of reflection that will help build recommendations for the sector for greater gender equality in music programming.
With:
- Dieuvela Etienne, musician, actress and playwright, Symbi Roots (Haiti)
- Éloïse Bouton, feminist activist and journalist, Founder of Madame Rap
- Imyra Santana, musician and doctoral student in musicology (Brazil)
- Adrien Chiquet, jazz advisor at ONDA
Moderated by: Natasha Le Roux, musician and administrator at HF Ile-de-France.
